The Glory of God

Encouragement for the day...
Isaiah said these things because he saw his glory and spoke of him. (John 12:41 ESV) The old saint Isaiah is quoted by John, the beloved disciple, as Jesus, through His work, had fulfilled Isaiah's ancient writings in the valued Old Testament. John, by the aide of the Holy Spirit, saw that Isaiah had written deep truths about the salvation that Jesus was bringing to mankind. Surely at that point John must have asked Himself, how did Isaiah know? John may or may not have applied the theology understood today of the revealing of the Holy Spirit but what John did see that we tend to miss today is extremely important. John saw that Isaiah wrote as was revealed to him because he saw the gory of God Almighty. This is huge! It is true the same Holy Spirit revealed truth to John and to Isaiah. However, why these men? What was special about them? John tells us they sought for, searched desperately for the glory of God. Did you know you have that same opportunity every day? Be encouraged in the truth of God's Word today and desperately seek for His glory! It changes everything!
